EnviroGorge, based in Hood River, created a fun, free online bird identification quiz for all ages and levels to help you learn about birds of the Gorge.
Prizes will be awarded to six participants. The prizes are bird feeders and bird books donated by Hood River Hobbies. The quiz runs for six weeks from now through June 30, 2016. To enter, go to www.envirogorge.com.
Birds eat insects and rodents, pollinate flowers, and disperse seeds, but many bird species are in trouble. According to the State of the North America’s Birds 2016 report just released by the North American Bird Conservation Initiative, a third of all North American bird species need urgent conservation action to avoid extinction. Now is a great time to learn to identify the birds in our own back yards, and learn how to conserve them.
