HOOD RIVER — On March 14, Columbia Gorge Fruit Growers Association (CGFG) Executive Director Mike Doke was fired from his position following allegations of theft that “spanned multiple years and totals tens-of-thousands of dollars,” said the CGFG board of directors. Doke has been the association’s sole employee since May 2016.

According to a news release on March 17, board members became aware of financial improprieties and, upon further investigation, found that CGFG members had unknowingly become “victims of significant theft perpetuated by staff.” It is unclear the amount of money involved or what it was used for.
