WHITE SALMON — Columbia High School Bruins and the Skyline Health Foundation teamed up for the final home game of the season with Pink Week in White Salmon. The two worked together to bring breast cancer awareness to the community by encouraging players and fans alike to wear pink and donate to help breast cancer awareness causes through the Skyline Foundation’s Breast Health Fund.
“Pink Week was a tremendous success,” said Elizabeth Vaivoda, marketing and foundation director of Skyline Health. “We are grateful for this powerful collaboration, which brought awareness and essential support to Skyline’s Breast Health Program. Small towns, big fight.”
Sean Ciemiewicz, president of The Bruin Club also was pleased with the partnership. “The Bruin Club was thrilled to sponsor Pink Week at Columbia High School and to integrate the athletic events. We were overwhelmed by the incredible support of the community and truly believe we made a difference making people aware of The Breast Health Fund at the Skyline Health Foundation. We raised nearly $2,000 as part of the events and know that more money is coming in from various sources. No doubt, we are going to work to have this event next October and believe we will have even more opportunities to expand on our efforts.”
