THE GORGE — On June 7, a driver near I-84 milepost 81 eastbound complained about another driver menacing them with a gun while passing, and also throwing a beer can from his vehicle. A state trooper found the suspect driving with a blood alcohol content of 0.21%, and arrested them on charges of DUII, menacing, illegal possession of a semi-automatic pistol hidden in the driver-side door, and littering.

Separately, a driver in Hood River told police that the operator of a camper van pointed a gun at them while driving recklessly. Officers stopped the van and detained the driver in handcuffs, but after investigating, they found “the driver of the van had not pointed a firearm at anyone.”
