It’s officially time to start looking ahead to fall 2026, even though season finales are still airing across the broadcast networks.
On Wednesday, April 15, CBS was the first network to announce its 2026-2027 season plans, and that includes some changes to its schedule for the fall. FBI and CIA are each moving up an hour on Mondays, and there’s some shuffling of the NCISverse on Tuesdays, with new series in the franchise New York bumping prequel Origins to 10/9c. Marshals is moving from a midseason show to a fall one.
Being held for the midseason are new series Einstein and the returns of Ghosts, Matlock, and NCIS: Sydney, all three of which were previously fall shows, on CBS. (Ghosts will still air one-hour Halloween and Ghostmas special episodes in the fall.)
On May 11, NBC and Fox set their schedules. NBC made a couple changes, with NBA taking over Tuesday nights. On Thursdays, the civilian version of The Traitors will be airing at 8/7c, and with SVU staying in its time slot, Law & Order is moving to 10/9c. Mondays’ lineup will change in November, with The Voice going from two hours to one and comedies St. Denis Medical and The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins leading off the night; new drama Line of Fire, starring Peter Krause and Hope Davis will cap off the night.
Among NBC’s series being held for the midseason are The Rockford Files, a reboot starring David Boreanaz as the private investigator (January) and Sunset P.I. with Jake Johnson and Jane Levy (February).
Fox is holding new series Baywatch and The Interrogator as well as Memory of a Killer, Murder in a Small Town, American Dad!, Bob’s Burgers, Family Guy, Krapopolis, Crime Scene Kitchen, Don’t Forget the Lyrics, Extracted, Fear Factor: House of Fear, Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service, LEGO Masters, The Masked Singer, MasterChef, and Next Level Chef for the midseason.
ABC was the last to announce its schedule, on May 12. R.J. Decker, which was a midseason show for its first season, is moving to the fall. That means High Potential is moving to the midseason. ESPN’s Monday Night Football will be taking over Monday nights. Also being held for the midseason are The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise, Shifting Gears, The Rookie, new spinoff The Rookie: North, and Will Trent.
