Sydney Newby is introduced in the starting lineups.

Sydney Newby, senior wing for The Dalles High School girls basketball team, was selected by league coaches as the 2024-25 Tri-Valley Conference (TVC) Player of the Year. Newby led the Riverhawks to a second-place finish in the TVC and a spot in the Class 4A state playoffs.

She signed a letter of intent March 6 to play basketball at Linfield University. The 6-foot Newby became the all-time leading scorer in school history.
