Eagles slip to 1-3 in NWOC girls basketball

Hood River Valley lost, 61-31, at Canby in a Northwest Oregon Conference (NWOC) girls basketball game Jan. 13. HRV (7-7 overall, 1-3 NWOC) has an 11-day break from games and will resume conference contests Jan. 24 at Rex Putnam.

Hood River and Canby went toe-to-toe for more than two quarters before the host Cougars pulled away late in the third period. Bella Howe’s 3-pointer with less than six minutes remaining in the third quarter pulled HRV within 30-25. But Canby (8-6, 3-1) outscored the Eagles 31-6 the rest of the game.
