TASTY PAGES 2 — For space reasons in The Porch on June 4, we cut out the funny coda to my thank-you note to Hood River Library’s Joanne Gibeaut, for helping me in my Greyhound trip research by tracking down a free stack copy of “Travels with Charley” by John Steinbeck, about his eponymous dog, when the Library’s copy was checked out. That copy came back a couple days later — one corner chewed up by the patron’s pooch.
No, it was not named Charley.
