This week volunteers at Adopt A Dog have selected Ryder as the program’s adoptable pet of the week.
Ryder’s back and better than ever! Ryder is a 5 year old pittie boy, about 50 lbs. He was adopted three years ago, to a home where he was loved, and cuddled, and had a great life, but the owner has come into hard times and health problems, and tearfully had to surrender Ryder in hopes someone else can give this lovey boy everything he deserves.
Ryder is a hoot! He’s very playful — never met a rock he didn’t like or couldn’t chase down! And don’t even get him started on squeaky toys! Piece a cake for Ryder to take apart.
He’s a happy guy, especially when he’s with his person. He is happiest just lounging around, watching people go about their day, or he’s up for a leashed walk, or better yet, car ride! Ryder is an excellent passenger and finds travel very relaxing. He’s not so relaxed around big dogs, though. Those take some getting used to. (And cameras. He’s never liked those things, so better pictures are hopefully on the way!)
But little dogs are fine, although he’s not interested in playing with them. He’d be happiest as an only dog so he can share all the love he has in his heart with someone equally deserving.
Ryder is housetrained, current on shots, microchipped and neutered. The adoption fee for Ryder is $205. The fee to adopt is charged to recoup standard veterinary expenses.
Since many of our dogs are in foster, please call ahead to meet Ryder in Odell at the Hukari Animal Shelter, 3910 Heron Drive, or call for more information at 541-354-1083. Adoption hours are Wednesday, 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, 9-11 a.m. You can fill out an application online at our website, hoodriveradoptadog.org, or download and scan and email to us at adoptadog@gorge.net, or fax it in to 1-877-833-7166. We offer 24PetWatch microchips, which include free registration into the 24PetWatch pet recovery service.
