A biologist spreads the wing of a wild hawk that had just been banded Sunday at Bonney Butte HawkWatch on the flanks of Mount Hood. Visitors are allowed to visit the project, which is approximately six miles southeast of Government Camp. The project has been ongoing since 1994, and migrating hawks are netted, banded and released through October, as weather permits.
