Bunzow Band, more at Bingen Theater April 27
Three bands play the Bingen Theater on Saturday, April 27 — The John Bunzow Band, Barlow Road and the Liberty Bond Jug Band. Music starts at 7 p.m. and there’s a $5 cover charge. The Bingen Theater is a privately owned, non-profit center for the arts. Its mission is to present quality musical, artistic and cultural offerings to the community. It is located at 210 Oak Street in Bingen.

Friday, April 12: 1939 Ensemble, 9:30 p.m. – Vibraphone and drums instrumental duo feat. Jose Medeles (from The Breeders). The 1939 Ensemble is an instrumental duo from Portland. With an unusual line-up the band draws influences from Krautrock, jazz and no-wave, from “ominous dissonance noise to sharp bombastic beats.”

Truck Mills at Pint Shack April 10
Acclaimed Northwest guitarist and multi-instrumentalist Truck Mills is a musical explorer. He travels from his home in Sandpoint, Idaho, diving into music from South America, Turkey, the Middle East and beyond, and filtering these influences into his wholly original music. Catch him at The Pint Shack in Hood River on Wednesday, April 10, from 7-9 p.m. On Thursday night, it’s “Go Pro Night.” Bring in your “go pro” video recordings of the day or any short films you've made, and they'll show them on the big screen. The Hood River Jazz Theater will play the Gallery 301 on Friday, April 12. Alan Taylor will be herding these hep cats, starting at 5 p.m. Join them at the Gallery 301, corner of Oak and Third, downtown Hood River.

MacMillan plays Sunshine Mill April 19
Jim MacMillan, Ryan McAlexander and Randy Bell will be performing an evening of all original eclectic and evolving folk compositions — with a few new ones thrown in — on Friday, April 19, from 7-10 p.m. at the Sunshine Mill in The Dalles.

May 3, 6-8 p.m., Columbia Center for Arts in Hood River. Guitarist Pat Haley will play a solo gig for the First Friday celebration.
May 4, 7-9 p.m.. RiverTap Pub, The Dalles. The band will be Bluesbridge, which is a side project with RWBB members and other friends.
‘Art of Movement’ returns April 20
“Art of Movement” will showcase a wide range of dance and movement available in the Columbia Gorge. This year brings exciting new works from the Columbia Gorge Dance Academy’s Company Dancers, a group that has been showcased in Portland, Eugene and locally, this group was privileged to perform in the Holiday Bowl half time show in San Diego last winter.
They will perform in a variety of genres including a special Pointe solo of The Black Swan from Swan Lake.
Other performers include Portland dance troupe Paint Dance Company, Zydeco Dancers, Scarlet Thistle Belly Dancers, and Over the Top Rhythm Tap Dancers, The Gorge Hep Cats, 5Rhythms Dance, Salsa, Bachata and much more.
Come join Columbia Center for the Arts for an outstanding evening full of dance and music showcasing the incredible array of dance and movement available right here in the Columbia River Gorge. Tickets are $10 for students and seniors, $8 for children 11 and under and $12 for adults. There will be 2 performances: 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Saturday April 20.

The Don Stiernberg Trio at The Pines Tasting Room
Enjoy this special show at The Pines Tasting Room in Hood River featuring Don Stiernberg, the world’s premier jazz mandolin player from Chicago. Don and his trio (guitar and bass) will sooth and swing concert goers and dancers. Opening the show for Don is Portland’s Brian Oberlin. Brian Oberlin plays solo mandolin with vocals, performing swing, bluegrass and Italian classical.
