Grab your ghoulish gear, put on your dancing shoes, and head down to The Pines for our Halloween Party with live music by the groooovy Funkship Columbia. This is a benefit for FISH food bank so there is a $10 suggested donation at the door or 4 cans of food. This show is 21+ only. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Flamenco in The Dalles Oct. 29
Flamenco dancer and Seattle-native, Savannah Fuentes brings her latest show, “Por el Flamenco,” to the Columbia Gorge Community College campus on Monday, Oct. 29. Fuentes has independently produced over 100 performances and workshops in the Northwest region with internationally recognized Flamenco artists. Her latest production is a presentation of pure and traditional Flamenco music and dance.
She will be joined by master Gypsy Flamenco singer Jesus Montoya of Seville, Bulgarian guitarist Bobby de Sofia and dancer Ricardo Chavez of Los Angeles. The 7:30 p.m. performance is the eleventh stop on her most extensive tour to date; 18 performances in Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, student/low-income $10 in advance, $15 at the door. Kids $8, available at www.brownpapertickets.com.
Halloween party at Civic Oct. 27

The Hood River Jazz Theater will entertain at The Gallery 301 Friday, Oct. 26, starting at 5 p.m. Come by and see new artwork by internationally celebrated Parisian painter Jean-Baptiste Oh.
Coming up: a celebration of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with installation by local artists Nate Chavez and mEugene Mathes with Kelly Phipps, Lisa Peterson and Tracy Klas contributing. Cookbook author Lynne Curry visits the Gorge Oct. 25-26

Halloween dance; diabetes benefit Oct. 27
The second annual Halloween Dance to Destroy Diabetes is Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Pint Shack in Hood River. Raffles and prizes for best costume with live music performances from Smudgepot, DJ Groc and more. Artist Doug Rosling will be auctioning a painting — created live at the party. $5 admission benefits the American Diabetes Association.
