Songwriters in the Round returns to HR Library July 13
Songwriters in the Round, hosted by the ambassador of song, Steve Hale will take place at the Hood River Library on Wednesday, July 13, at 7 p.m. Songwriters Steven Hale, Tracy Klass, and Lincoln Crokett each take turns playing an original composition and sharing about why and how they wrote it. Three sonically creative artists with their hand crafted audio treats presented to you totally acoustically, regaling beautiful melodies, intriguing chord changes and compelling stories about their songs.
Avenue Q opens July 8
Avenue Q, a coming of age musical suitable for adults 18 and over, opens next weekend at the Columbia Center for the Arts for a four-week run. Show dates are July 8-9, 14-16, 21-23 and 29-30, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The show combines human and puppet characters and centers on the theme of the issues and anxieties associated with entering adulthood.
The cast includes Kate Monster (April Sampson), Christmas Eve (Emily Vawter), Princeton (Reuben Betts), Brian (William Thayer-Dougherty), Gary Coleman (Sheila Dale), Nicky (Jimmy Oates) and Rod (Justin Danner), among a cast of both human characters and puppets alike.
