A free family-style event inspired by Tom and Charlotte Bell takes place at Waterfront Park Aug. 2, from 5-7 p.m. The Bell Family is generously sponsoring Joni Harms, a renowned country Western artists from Canby. Joni has just returned from a tour in Ireland, has won many awards, and has released eight albums. She is excited to play in Hood River and will feature country music for children and adults to enjoy. Come out with a picnic and enjoy the new waterfront amphitheater.
August Summer Concert Series at Mt. Hood Meadows
Get ready for a free live music concert series every Sunday in August on the Paradise Deck at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, from 1-3 p.m. Regional and Northwest artists will bring folk, rock, world and pop to the stage.
Aug. 2: Jen Winklepleck
Mt. Hood Meadows’ very own Vertical bartender Jen Winklepleck will be showcasing her amazing voice, featuring bluegrass and rock songs.
Aug. 9: Tim Snider
A Portland local, Tim Snider brings a World-Folk hybrid aimed at the heart, the brain and the feet.
Aug. 16: Jon Davidson
A Portland local, Jon Davidson's music is engaging acoustic alt/pop with heart.
Aug. 23: The Fenderbenders
Les Vaughn and Ted Matzen make up the Fenderbender duo. Their show will be a rare performance featuring a wide variety of original love songs, country music, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley covers.
Aug. 30: Redwood Son
Now a veteran of the regional Pacific Northwest music scene, Redwood Son was named best new artist at the 2011 Portland Music Awards. Redwood Son fuses vintage tones with contemporary styling. His songs promise to bring a more mature approach to the same timeless folk tunes.
A “master of original acoustic blues,” Doug MacLeod won the Blues Music Foundation Best Acoustic Player & Album for 2014. Sing Out Magazine says, “MacLeod is preserving a lost art ... a must for any serious fan of the blues and any soul who needs the healing of the blues.” Guitarist Kit Garoutte opens. ‘Pale Ales’ at White Buffalo
The Pale Ales play the White Buffalo Thursday, July 23, 6-8 p.m. Rob (guitar, vocals, concertina), Glen (guitar, vocals) and George (bass) will steal hearts with a collection of rock, blues & reggae. pFriem celebrates Aug. 1
pFriem Family Brewers announces its 3rd Anniversary Party on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 4-9 p.m. This celebration will happen at the Hood River Waterfront Park amphitheater directly across from the brewery. This event is open to the public.
This will be a family-friendly event, featuring live music by the Portland based band Scott Pemberton Trio starting at 7 p.m. In addition to live music, there will be a free bouncy house for kids from 4-8 p.m., food carts, and a pFriem beer tent.
Blue Moon BBQ Aug. 1
Celebrate this year's only blue moon, in the scenic Columbia Gorge at Maryhill Winery — paired with live music by the award-winning Karen Lovely Band, scrumptious barbecue by The Glass Onion. White Salmon Art & Wine Fusion
