Garden Gospel show Aug. 16
Bagge Gardens, 1805 Carroll Road, Mosier, will host a free garden gospel concert on Saturday, Aug. 16, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The guest artist is Charlie Walker, one of the Pacific Northwest's top Christian Country artists. Originally from Kentucky, Walker began a solo music career in 1997 and has released three gospel albums. “The biblically-based and life inspired songs he writes and sings make it easy for audiences to relate to him, while his melodious voice is comforting as well.” Donations will be accepted. Next Door benefit Aug. 14
It’s a benefit house concert at the Griffin House (4168 Westcliff Drive, just east of Ruthton park) for the Next Door on Thursday, Aug. 14, starting at 7 p.m. Music will be provided by Fred Fractal and the Frogs, featuring Alonzo Garbanzo and friends. ‘Underground’ musical swap meet at skatepark Aug. 10
On Sunday Aug 10, starting at noon, the Hood River Skate Park will feature a musical instrument swap meet hosted by the Underground Music Station. Bring your music gear to sell or trade, get a free music lesson and jam with a live band featuring Underground Music Station instructors. Organizer Tim Snyder will be on hand answering questions about the Station’s Kickstarter campaign. Pro skateboard demonstrations are planned, too. Hood River Skatepark, Wasco and 20th, Hood River.
Adam Miller plays Aug. 12
Adam Miller, one of the premier autoharpists in the world, a renowned American folksinger and natural-born storyteller will perform at the Hood River Library on Tuesday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m.
An accomplished folklorist, historian, musicologist, and song-collector, he has amassed a remarkable repertoire of over 5,000 songs. Miller accompanies his rich, resonant baritone voice with lively finger-picking acoustic guitar and stunningly beautiful autoharp melodies. A masterful entertainer who never fails to get his audience singing along, he has distinguished himself as one of the great interpreters of American folktales and folksongs, and as a performer who appeals to audiences of all ages.

River City punk rock show Aug. 12
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, River City welcomes four punk-garage-surf-rock bands to the stage. The show will feature Rotties, “Portland’s burlier sort of garage rock band, with shades of metal peeking through the slash and burn party -punk sound,” Needles and Pizza - Portland’s swirling in -your-face groove garage rock duo, the Slutty Hearts - with garage pop and pretty murder songs, and Skookoom, Hood River’s newest surf punk band. 9 p.m. showtime, 21 and over only.
