Dufur Threshing Bee re-enacts past harvests

Harvesters pitchfork bound sheaves from a specially-prepared field into a horse-drawn wagon, to be carted off for threshing in an old, steam-powered machine. The grain will be sewn up by hand in burlap sacks after separation from the huge pile of chaff. The harvest lasted most of the day on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Dufur Threshing Bee.
