Those wishing to get a sneak peek and a first chance to try on and purchase the wearable art from the Columbia Art Center’s Wearable Art Exhibition are invited to a sneak preview party fundraiser for the Center on August 4, at 6 p.m.
Set-up like a fun, fashionable clothing and art store, the Gallery will be filled with wearable art ranging from fun and funky t-shirts to one-of-a-kind wear-out-on-the-town art pieces. (There will even be dressing rooms available.) 2D artists will offer work that focuses on clothing and its impact and influence on contemporary life including ceremony, tradition, and social statement.
This ladies’ night out will feature live music by Megan Alder, played during a reception with appetizers, chocolates, wine, and champagne cocktails. Guests will then move into the Theatre for a wearable art fashion show showcasing exhibition artists and local models — all curated by stylist Robin Allen.
Following the show the Center will throw open the doors for an exclusive preview of and shopping in the exhibition, with models, styling consultants, and pop-up dressing rooms.
There will be beauty bars, coaching stations, and braiding bars by Clutch Hair Company onsite, in addition to fabulous fashion raffle prizes and silent auction experiences and services.
Tickets are $30 per person and available online and in the Columbia Arts Gallery at 215 Cascade Avenue in downtown Hood River.
