WHITE SALMON — Klickitat County Cemetery District 1 has received grant money from Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation through their Historic Cemetery Grant Program. The grant of $18,000 is for three projects, two of which have now been finished.

The first was a plaque listing the names and ranks of 70 Civil War Veterans who settled in the White Salmon area after that war; the plaque was installed in time for the annual American Legion Memorial Day program this year.
