Workers conduct welding repairs on the Hood River White Salmon Interstate Bridge in this file photo. If federal funding arrives on schedule, construction on a new interstate bridge will begin in fall of 2027.

HOOD RIVER — Single-lane closures on the Hood River-White Salmon Interstate Bridge will take place as crews perform annual deck welding repairs to maintain the bridge’s safety and structural integrity. Work will occur from Monday, April 21, through Friday, April 25, and again from Monday, April 28, through Friday, May 2, between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.

Flaggers will be present to direct traffic, and drivers should expect delays during these hours. While every effort is made to reduce the impact on travelers, some disruptions are unavoidable. Please plan accordingly and allow extra time for your commute.
