On Aug. 3, Missoula Children’s Theatre Artists will lead a free drama camp for kids ages 6-18. They will rehearse a short play, Wiz of the West, for one week and perform it on Saturday, August 8, at The Goldendale American Legion. Additionally, they will also be teaching short drama workshops for $10 each, Tuesday through Thursday. Register at www.zeffy.com/en-US/organizations/goldendale-creative-district.
Outdoor weekend performing arts events will be free and held outdoors between Pat's Place and The HonkyTonk Bar and Restaurant at 113 W. Main St., Goldendale. BeeWinged Bellora Art Bus will be providing a crafty star-making experience, the pool’s lifeguards will be selling snocones, and Dad’s Sourdough will have a food truck for those looking for a bite to eat.
Friday’s lineup includes a songwriting workshop by Lilly Miller at 5 p.m., followed by a rocking sing-along with The Low Bar Chorale at 7  p.m.
Saturday afternoon at 4 Â p.m., local teen comedian Henry Duyck will perform a short set to open for Jugglemania, a professional juggler. At 6 Â p.m., the evening ignites with folk dancing to modern music taught and led by Folk Fusion.
Goldendale Creative District is a not-for-profit organization supporting arts, culture, creativity, and community in Goldendale. Hippo Hall is a new event venue, currently under construction on Main Street in Goldendale.
