Hood River County: Sand, sandbags available in preparation for possible flooding

HOOD RIVER — To prepare homes and businesses for possible flooding, Hood River County announced this evening, Dec. 18, that there are free sand and sandbags now available at two locations: Hood River County Fairgrounds, 3020 Wy’east Road (filled sandbags available for pickup while supplies last), and Hood River County Public Works, 918 18^th St., Hood River (sand and empty bags provided to fill; please bring a shovel and gloves); once you enter the property, head toward the south side of the lot, following signs towards “County Forestry,” said Public Health Project Manager Daron Ryan.

Ryan asked that supplies only be used if needed. Updates will be given as information becomes available.
