All children need heroes to look up to, but kids who have been abused or neglected need superheroes.
Columbia Gorge CASA celebrates the many superheroes involved in the lives of local foster children with its 1st Superhero Run/Walk on Oct. 6 at the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center in The Dalles.
The event offers a 3K or 5K run/walk along the waterfront trail and a 300 yard Little Kid Dash on the Discovery Center grounds.
Participants are encouraged to race dressed as their favorite superhero! Local superheroes like CASAs, DHS caseworkers, police officers, firefighters, teachers, counselors, doctors, nurses, foster parents, and big brothers & sisters are encouraged to run as a team.
Registration is free for people who bring in race sponsorships totaling $50 or more. In addition, all runners are eligible for half price admission to the Discovery Center that day.
Superhero capes and T-shirts are available to purchase during pre-registration.
