Three weddings and a baby

I'm not sure if this is a record or not...but Glenwood was the venue for three weddings on Saturday, July 16!

Congratulations to Shane and Kristi Couch; David and Katie Lively; and Kevin and Ashley (Woodward) Sturtevant on their marriages! Best wishes to each couple!

Greg and Debbie Sanchey welcomed their little daughter, Emma Lynn, into the world on July 6, 2011. At birth she weighed 6 pounds, 11 ounces; and was 20 inches long. Emma's proud grandparents are George and Jeri Lynn Sanchey and Doss and Betty Vandeburg. Congratulations to the Sancheys on the arrival of their first child!

If you enjoy playing Bunco, plan to attend the Ladies Bunco Night at the Pioneer Memorial Community Church (PMCC) on Thursday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. Bring a finger food to share; and plan for a fun evening!

Friday, July 22, is the monthly movie night at PMCC. Tangled is the featured show that will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy a free movie and popcorn!

The Glenwood Rodeo Association is holding a Fun Play Day at the Glenwood Rodeo Grounds on Sunday, July 31. This is a just-for-fun event suitable for riders and horses of all skill levels. Age divisions include pee wees, 10 and under; juniors, 11 to 14; seniors, 15 to 18; and oldies, over 18. The warm-up arena will open at 9 a.m. and the first event will begin at 10.

Events include barrel racing, pole bending, keyhole race, Figure 8; and, if time allows, an additional fun event. Entry fees are $5 per event or $20 for all day. All management decisions are final. Riding boots, pants and western attire are required, while helmets are recommended. Ribbons will be given to fifth place in each event and prizes to the top three points earners in each age division.
