Thanks go out to whom ever trudged up the hill and repaired the "Lyle" sign. It was done before our article about it being torn up even hit the news paper. Isn't this a great community!!!
We suggest again that in this COLD weather you check on neighbors and friends, make sure they have heat, water, and food. Be a good neighbor and be ready to assist if help is needed. Sometimes pride can keep us from asking for basic assistance.

Reminiscence: by Homer H. James, Lyle 1905 & Later: "In this little mill on the hill above Pitt, we sawed out the lumber wood in building the trestles below Lyle toward White Salmon. The R.R. was built on trestles across the Chamberlain bottoms at Dubois Lake, and also Lock Lake. We had an order for 1000 pcs 8x16x28 ft long which we cut at this mill. We also made all the lumber used to line the tunnels west of Lyle also all the 2x4's that were in the Lyle R.R. Bridge."
Remember the 3Rs: Respect for self, Respect for other, and Responsibility for your actions!
