As a packed house filled Council Chambers on Monday, Lesley Lamb, Hood River Vacation Rentals co-owner, hands out copies of Planning Commission packets to fellow audience members. The occasion was the hearing on proposed city code changes regulating Short-Term Rentals (STRs). Fifty-one people testified, with 35 voicing partial or complete opposition to restricting STRs, and 16 advocating some degree of code change. The commission will deliberate on March 21; the city accepts written testimony until 5 p.m. March 16, and with the volume of comments already in, Commission Chair Nate DeVol said, “The sooner the better, so we can properly digest what you want to say.”
