The Skamania County Fair relies on hundreds of volunteers and there are still opportunities for involvement.
"We've got a list of volunteer positions that range from helping out a couple of hours to being the Superintendent of the Floral department. This is a great way to get involved and give back to the community," said Paul Pearce, fair board president.
The Skamania County Fair Board is moving full steam ahead with preparations for this year's fair. Entertainers are being lined-up, vendor applications are coming in quickly and the fairgrounds are being prepared for what promises to be a busy year.
"We're hearing from fairs across the country that their attendance is up from previous years. People are staying close to home this summer and they're looking for opportunities to connect with their community," said Ken Cohen, community events and recreation director.
Fair dates for this year's Skamania County Fair will be Aug. 15-18.
