Election, election, election! It is time for another election for the members of the community council. Three positions are up for election this year. If you have an interest in serving the community by becoming a member of the community council contact Ken Belieu at 395-2712 to have your name submitted for nomination. The council presents the community's interests to the county commissioners, monitors development and land use changes, and acts as a catalyst for change in the community by encouraging dialogue between various community groups. All very interesting, though unpaid, work. The actual election will be held Nov. 3, at the Grange Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This is your chance to remain in touch with the old pleasure of physically going to the polls to cast your ballot. Don't forget to vote both in the local election and the state wide election (via mail).

And every year the quilters meet Monday mornings 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the grange. Joining the quilters provides a good opportunity to learn about quilting from women who are experts. Enjoy sewing and socializing? Just show up at the grange on Monday mornings.
The Harvest Party for children will be held at Jonah Ministries in the gym on Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged. A hot dog dinner will be available for a very reasonable price. There will be carnival games and crafts. A picture corner will offer an opportunity to have a picture taken of participants in their costumes for a keepsake of the event.
The Saturday Market is closed for the year. What a pleasure to be able to purchase fresh local baked goods (love the cinnamon rolls) and fresh locally grown organic vegetables every Saturday. The new cabinet displayed the quilters work beautifully. Also enjoyed the old quilts hanging on the walls, interesting how quilting has changed over the years. Was nice to be able to eat lunch at the market, and what a variety of foods offered. Fresh quiche and Mexican food to be consumed in the pleasant lunch area what a treat. In addition was interesting to look at the crafts offered. Already am looking forward to going to the market next year.
