A Family Fun Day for visitors of all ages, featuring a play about Lewis & Clark, will be held at Maryhill Museum on Sunday, Aug. 24, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Beginning at 2 p.m., visitors are invited to interact with members of Actors in Action, a Portland based professional actors group, on a theatrical journey into the great Northwest with America's most famous adventurers, Lewis and Clark, Sacajawea, the Mandans, and some greedy mountain men.
"The whole audience gets involved as the Corps of Discovery sets out to map a water passage to the Pacific," said Courtney Spousta, curator of education. "It'll be fun and educational for the whole family."
The museum has two new Lewis & Clark exhibits currently on display: Reflecting on Lewis & Clark features work by 13 contemporary Native American artists and Lewis & Clark At Maryhill focuses on the trade and fishing customs of the indigenous people of the Columbia that the Corps encountered.
There are also related Lewis & Clark materials and books in the museum's new Resource Room.
