GLENNA HENRY
Glenna Dorette Henry, a longtime employee at Skyline Hospital and The Dalles hospital, died April 28, 2005.
Mrs. Henry was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Portland, Ore., to Robert E. Hendricks and Angie May Smith Hendricks, the youngest of 10 children.
She attended Kellog grade school in Portland. She married Donald D. Henry of Trout Lake on Dec. 15, 1957, in Goldendale. The couple lived in Oregon and California before returning back to Washington.
Mrs. Henry is survived by her children Michele Rae, Cindy Marie, Karen Leigh and Teresa Lynn; grandchildren Angela, Dale, David, Corey, Ginnia, Rich, Elijah, Ezra and Courtney; great-grandchildren Caleb and Mike; sister Alice; and brothers Clark, Harold and Clifford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Rodney and sisters Roberta, Lozeta and Joyce.
A celebration of life for Mrs. Henry was held May 5, 2005.
MAE GILMER
Laura Mae Gilmer died May 22, 2005, at Providence Brookside Manor, at the age of 75. She was the fourth child born to Dolly Eunice DeWalt and Henry Philip "Shorty" Vermeire on January 15, 1930, in Klickitat County.
Mrs. Gilmer attended school at Mt. Brook where she completed 11 1/2 years, dropping out her senior year to marry Donald Lee Gilmer after his tour of duty with the Army was completed.
Their married life started in Portland, Ore., but they moved back to White Salmon to start their family. She was a housewife through most of her children-raising years until 1965 when she completed her schooling by passing her GED test and started working for the Trout Lake Forest Service where she worked for 10 years. She then worked for SDS for several years planting trees with friends, which she totally enjoyed. After being diagnosed with cerebellum, she occasionally worked for Monte Elise Winery and Vineyard.
Mrs. Gilmer is survived by her husband, Don, The Dalles, Ore.; daughters Joyce McGraw, White Salmon, and Debra Schockman, Hermiston, Ore.; four grandchildren Tanya Guler, White Salmon, Todd McGraw, New Mexico, and Stephanie Olea and Misty Harvey, both of Hermiston; and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by sons Loren Donald "Buddy" Gilmer and Michael Lee Gilmer.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, at the Pinecrest Church of the Nazarene in White Salmon.
