DAVID WEBBERLEY
David A. Webberley of Trout Lake, died Oct. 3, 2007, with his loved ones surrounding him. He was born Aug. 22, 1963, in Vancouver, to Duane and Lila Webberley.
Mr. Webberley was full of love for his family and his treasures. He approached life with childlike enthusiasm that he shared with all he came in contact with. He lived his entire life in the valley where he filled his time with collecting and repairing bicycles, small engines, and electronic appliances. He enjoyed riding snowmobiles and the friendships that were built among the other riders. He could be seen about the valley riding his bicycle or mowing a friend's lawn on his John Deere tractor.
Mr. Webberly fought a valiant battle against a rare form of cancer since 2004. He was part of a study at University of Washington Medical Center and Celilo Cancer Center in The Dalles, to help further the research and treatment for sarcoma. He amazed his doctors with his spirit, courage and strength.
He attended Trout Lake School and participated in the Trout Lake Mountaineers 4-H Club where he showed animals in the dairy project.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Edgar and Edith Webberley, and Osborn Slocum.
Mr. Webberly is survived by his parents Duane and Lila Webberley, brothers and sisters, D. Tom Webberley, Bend, Ore., Diana Schmid, Moses Lake, Dale Webberley, Trout Lake, Deborah Ortega, Moses Lake and Daniel Webberley, Trout Lake; grandmother Manda Slocum, Trout Lake; and 12 nieces and nephews and four great nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Trout Lake followed by interment at the Trout Lake Cemetery. All are invited to a reception at the Trout Lake Grange after the graveside service.

TOM CAVENDER
Tom Cavender, 75, a resident of Leavenworth for the past seven years, died Monday morning, Oct. 1, 2007, at his home.
He was born on April 13, 1932, to Donald Ellis and Virginia (Dunham) Cavender at Waco, Texas, where he was raised and received his early education. He graduated from high school in San Antonio, Texas, and then attended the Sam Houston State College in Huntsville where he received a bachelor of science degree. He then attended Southwestern Seminary where he received his master's degree in religious education.
On Dec. 16, 1956, he married Frances Virginia Cromer at Lubbock, Texas, and in 1958, they moved to Glenwood, where he taught math and science. The couple later moved to White Salmon where he worked at White Salmon High School until his retirement. After retiring, he worked with his wife in the greenhouse and garden center business to which they added landscaping and irrigation. They maintained the gardens at Maryhill Museum in Goldendale for 12 years.
In 2000, they retired, sold their business and moved to Leavenworth. They were members of the Evergreen Baptist Church in Cashmere where Mr. Cavendar was a deacon. He enjoyed church activities, traveling, working outside and working in his shop.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Cavender, and a sister, Alice May Bryan, Burkburnett, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-brother Don and a half-sister Patricia.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Cavender will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Evergreen Baptist Church in Cashmere, with the Reverend Allen Jarboe officiating.
