Maryhill Museum of Art is hosting a special reception on Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 5 to 7 p.m. for the members of The Dalles, Greater Goldendale, Hood River County, Mt. Adams, Skamania County and West Columbia Gorge Chambers of Commerce.
Chamber members and their guests are invited to come at 4 p.m. and tour the museum before the reception. Admission to the museum and the reception is free.
Chamber members and their guests will have an opportunity to explore the museum, learn about the museum's exciting plans for 2009, and network with colleagues from throughout the Columbia River Gorge.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us living throughout the Columbia Gorge to get to learn about each other's communities and programs" said Maryhill Museum of Art's executive director Colleen Schafroth. "I look forward to welcoming the chambers to Maryhill."
Among the exhibits to explore, is the museum's highly popular exhibit, Andy Warhol and Other Famous Faces, from the collection of Jordan D. Schnitzer and his family foundation.
At the museum until Nov. 15, the exhibit features Warhol portraits of Jimmy Carter, Marilyn Monroe, Liza Minnelli, and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Warhol isn't the only big name in the show, which also includes portraits by other famous American artists as well.
