The White Salmon Valley Community Library will be featuring an exhibit of works in a variety of media by Lyle artist Mellissa Stevens, during the month of September.
The public is invited to meet the artist at a reception on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 2 p.m. in the library's Sprint/Baker gallery.
The show includes works in acrylic watercolor, oil, collage and multimedia.
The inspiration and namesake of the show is Khaos, a little-known goddess who was the first of the primeval gods, and the embodiment of the lower atmosphere -- the space between heaven and earth. She was also the goddess of fate.
Stevens, who enjoys listening to loud music, dancing in the rain, and stargazing on moonlight walks, plans to move to Portland, Ore., and eventually support herself as a full-time artist.
