Lyle's Lindsey Blaine beat Jordan Graeme in the one event they went head-to-head but shared top individual honors with the Klickitat athlete at the conclusion of the March 29 Simcoe Relays in Goldendale.
Blaine won the javelin and the shot put, and placed second in the discus. Graeme finished first in the high and triple jumps and was runnerup to Blaine in the javelin.
Blaine, the defending state Class B javelin champion, uncorked a throw of 137 feet, 11 inches to win the event.
In the shot, the Lyle senior put forth a 31-.75 effort to edge Bickleton sophomore Annie Hess, who turned around to top Blaine in the discus, 111-0 to 99-0
Graeme followed her 115-5 toss in the javelin by clearing 5-2 in the high jump and leaping 32-5.5 in the triple jump.
Neither Blaine's nor Graeme's team was a factor in the team competition, won by Class 1A Cle Elum with 132 points
Lyle tallied 35 points and Klickitat totaled 29. Glenwood finished with 24.5 points, just behind Bickleton, which netted 27 in the 12-team meet at Bill Barthlow Field.
Glenwood's boys team, led by sophomores Tony Leiter, Mitch Wheelhouse and David Wasgatt, put together a strong fourth-place showing, racking up 72.5 points.
White Swan held off Goldendale, 141-131, to win the boys team competition.
Leiter posted the Eagles' lone victory on the day, scaling 10-6 in the pole vault in the fewest attempts.
Strongman Wheelhouse placed second in both the shot put (42-1) and the discus (124-6) for the Eagles. Wasgatt recorded seconds in the javelin (127-1) and the high jump (5-6).
Junior Nick Kokos contributed to Glenwood's cause second-place points in the 800 run (2:17.1).
Klickitat, which netted 15 points, got a second and a third from freshman Travis Cleveland in the triple jump (36-10) and pole vault (9-6), respectively.
Lyle, with 13 points, was paced by senior Jim Bodolay's third-place finish in the discus (123-7).
