Theresa Rundell, ARNP, clinical division manager at the Klickitat County Health Department, was awarded the Vivian O. Lee Clinician of the Year Award at the 2005 Reproductive Health Conference in Portland, Ore.
In 1987, the Center for Health Training instituted the Vivian O. Lee Clinician of the Year Award. The award, named for Vivian O. Lee, regional program consultant for Family Planning, U.S. Public Health Service, Region X, recognizes clinicians who have made outstanding contributions in family planning in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.
Rundell has been a nurse practitioner specializing in Family Planning since 1983. She is on the executive board of the Washington State Nursing Directors Association and the Washington State Association of Local Public Health Officials.
In addition, she serves on the Washington State Family Planning Council and two local family planning and women's health groups.
Throughout her years working in public health, Rundell has spearheaded numerous successful family planning projects. From conducting outreach at the county jail to providing free prenatal vitamins to women of child bearing age, her programs have reached many residents of Klickitat County.
Rundell has made family planning her life's work and passion and brings her dedication to this field in all that she does.
