"The Hook, the Twist, the Spin," is the topic of a free writing workshop Saturday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Goldendale Community Library.
This workshop will focus on techniques for creating interesting and engaging stories. Participants will learn how to spice up their writing with surprising plot twists and to hook their readers' attention with the unexpected.
Wendy Warren, Yakima Valley Community College writing instructor, will facilitate.
The September workshop is the ninth in a monthly series for Klickitat County writers and storytellers. It is presented by Klickitat County A to Z, a Goldendale group writing a book celebrating the people, places and stories of Klickitat County.
Friends of the Goldendale Community Library and Fort Vancouver Regional library are sponsors of the project.
Teddy Cole, Klickitat County A to Z project coordinator, encourages writers from throughout the county to attend the workshops.
"There are many fascinating stories to be told -- about local customs, interesting people, flora and fauna, and places to visit in our area," Cole said. "We want to collect as many as possible."
