Mid Columbia Community Choir invites the public to an evening of music as it presents the 4th Annual Hymns of Thanksgiving.
The Community Choir will lead the congregation in several of the great hymns associated with Thanksgiving and Harvest.
The choir will present several very beautiful hymns and will include a song by Kurt Bestor, "Prayer of the Children." The Thanksgiving Singers will sing the well known hymn, "It Is Well with My Soul" and a beautiful new song entitled, "Hear Our Prayer."
Special guests for the evening will be the Hood River Valley Sweet Adelines and the Riverside Community Church Choir.
Linda Streich will host the evening of music and will include hymn stories and scriptures associated with the Thanksgiving theme.
Perry Cole has been the director of the Mid Columbia Community Choir since 2003 and introduced the Hymns of Thanksgiving program the following year.
"I have been presenting hymn sings for the past 20 plus years in various places I have lived. Each year the program takes on different themes and types of music. This year takes us back to more traditional hymns while last year's program was very Southern Gospel."
Cole jokingly says that, "he has been doing hymn sings longer than Bill Gaither has been doing the Gaither Homecoming programs."
He adds, "You won't want to miss this great evening of celebrating God's wonderful bounty through the great hymns and songs of Thanksgiving."
The program will be at the Riverside Community Church, 4th & State Streets, Hood River, at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 17.
