The Mt. Adams Chamber of Commerce celebrates three new local businesseses in the area with a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony at Ground, Postal Connection, and Sticks and Stones.
"Having three ribbon cutting ceremonies back to back is exciting not only for the chamber but for the business community as a whole," said Carl McNew, chamber president and associate broker/branch manager of Windermere/Glenn Taylor Real Estate. "Events like this signal ongoing growth and development for our area."
"We appreciate the warm enthusiasm and support we've received from the community," said Celynn VanDeventer, owner of Postal Connection.
Postal Connection is a retail base store created to meet all mailing and shipping needs for the area. In addition, Postal Connection offers digital printers for copying, as well as binding, and laminating services. The store is located at 176 E Jewett Blvd and its hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sticks and Stones has been in business for over 10 years and its new storefront features Wayne Cordrey's fun, funky, and functional colorwashed furniture, and partners with other local artist products as well as art and fine craft from American artists nationwide.
The store is located at 154 E. Jewett Blvd and its hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Ground which had its ribbon cutting and grand opening party last month is also a new business in the area and specializes in coffee, homemade baked goods, sandwiches and more.
"We are excited to have them in our local area," said Marsha Frost-Holliston, service manager for the Mt Adams Chamber of Commerce. "Since The Creamery closed, everyone in the community has been waiting for a new community gathering spot and Ground offers homemade soups, sandwiches, ice cream, beer and local wine, and of course handcrafted espresso drinks and coffee."
Ground is located at 166 E. Jewett Blvd in White Salmon and opens Monday through Saturday at 6 a.m., and 7 a.m. on Sunday.
