Taste wine from five wineries, listen to vintage blues, savor a salmon Caesar salad complete with scrumptious pastries, and appreciate the art work of Gorge artists for a most festive Fourth of July Celebration.
"Red Wine, Blues & Art, Too" brings all of this together from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center Museum in Stevenson.
Bring the whole family. Sit on the lawn, enjoy the gorgeous view, and tap your toes to the live music provided by the Ian Siegal Trio from the UK. Face painting and balloon animals will tickle the fancy of the kids. There will be supervised free activities for children 6-12 years old in the Grand Gallery from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
More than five local artists will display their fine art inside and outside the Museum for your preview and possible addition to your private collection.
Wines are provided by Maryhill Winery, Wind River Cellars, Marshal's Winery, Syncline Cellars, Cascade Cliffs and Quailhurst Estate Winery. A selection of micro-brews are available from the award winning Walking Man Brewery of Stevenson.
Skamania Lodge will be tempting your palate with its famous plank salmon Caesar salad; Bonneville Hot Springs Resort is adding its world-class pasties. Other food that will be available is strawberry shortcake, popcorn and ice cream. Pop, water and coffee are options for those who will not be wine tasting.
The festivities begin with the dedication of the Misner Art Patio at 6 p.m. and the firing of the 1856 cannon. The wine tasting, art show, blues continues until 9 p.m. Wrap up in a blanket or put up the lawn chair and settle in for a spectacular fireworks display provided by the Port of Cascade Locks. It truly is a family-friendly affair.
The event is co-sponsored by the City of Stevenson, Skamania Lodge, Bonneville Hot Springs Resort, and L&C RV Park.
