Teams are forming NOW!
Teams of five raise money from friends, family members, co-workers, etc. to support the work of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Each person is asked to raise a minimum of $50 with free event T-shirts for individual team members who raise $100 or more in pledges. The fundraising goal of $40,000 will create and support caring relationships that make a difference for kids in our communities.
"The bowling is a bonus for the hard work teams put in to raising funds for the program," according to Tim Sweeney, of Hood River Construction and BBBS's Advisory Board. "Even if you're not a bowler, it's a lot of fun and a great way to support the important work we do. A gutter ball never felt so good!"
BBBS matches children with a caring, screened and trained volunteer who acts as a role model, providing friendship, guidance and support.
Currently, the program maintains more than 60 matches in Hood River, Wasco and Klickitat counties. But, the need for mentors is great -- there are currently 20 children on the waiting list.
Supporting a bowler with your donation will help match additional youth throughout the region with an amazing Big Brother or Big Sister.
