Efforts to eradicate marijuana during the growing season in Skamania County has yielded in excess of 3,300 plants pulled from 22 gardens over the past week. Deputies utilizing the Washington Army National Guard RAID unit helicopters from Fort Lewis as a viewing platform, were able to spot the gardens from the air.

Detectives from the Clark-Skamania Drug Task Force assisted with the pulling of the plants. The street value of a mature plant is estimated at $3,000, placing the value of these plants, when mature, in excess of $9 million dollars.
