Clark College will host an open house on Wednesday, Dec. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at its Bingen campus, 310 S. Larch St., in the Zepher Building.
The evening’s program will feature a guest speaker, Rebecca Kleiva, from Clark’s Workforce Education Services Office, who will discuss programs available to students for reducing or covering the cost of tuition, in addition to an overview of the Winter 2016 CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting) program offerings.
Kleiva will present a variety of programs that are designed to support students who are pursuing vocational/technical non-transfer degree programs and certificates, as well as ABE/ESL/GED classes. Kleiva will also be available for one-on-one appointments to discuss specific needs and eligibility.
Those who fall under following criteria may be eligible for tuition assistance and are encouraged to attend:
• Considered low income
• Receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
• Receiving federal food benefits
• Eligible for unemployment benefits
• Receiving unemployment benefits
• Exhausted unemployment benefits within the past 48 months
• Military veteran discharged within the past 48 months, or have an upcoming separation date
• Displaced homemaker (loss of primary income due to becoming widowed, separated or divorced)
