At the Willamette Invitational in Oregon City, The Dalles track and field team amassed 22 personal records and 10 top-10 finishes against 22 other schools.
Glenn Breckterfield had a personal record in the 400 meters with a time of 56.58 seconds and the 4x400-meter relay team of Breckterfield, Bill Burns, Paul Clark and Antonio Morales set a season-best in 4:00.89 for 10th place.
Andy Felderman, a senior, cut down even more time from his 3,000 meters in 9:54.67 for a career-best.
Luke McLean had a PR in the 3,000 after his mark of 10:28.04, Frogg Charoenchau posted a season-best 2:24.81 in the 800 meters.
Sant Strassheim motored for a 17.04 in the 110-meter hurdles, a personal record and he went for a 41.47 in the 300-meter hurdles.
Joey Duong had a personal record 39-7.5 for a PR in the shotput.
Addison Smith had a toss of 39-0.25 for career-best and Orion Smith posted a 9-0 in the pole vault to secure 18th place.
The girls’ team had 12 personal bests led by reigning district champion Katie Conklin, who had a time of 16.64 in the 100 meter hurdles and went for a distance of 33-10 300 meter hurdles.
Monica Salazar went for 16.64 in the 100-meter hurdles, Molly Nelson had high marks in the 800 (2:43.52) and 3,000 (12:55.24) and Emily Morin placed 13th place in the 3,000 with a personal record of 11:55.50.
Bailey Nearing had a time of 5:57.18 for a PR in the 1,500, Marisa Heemsah went for 2:50.62 in the 800 and Avery Cardosi had a mark of 1:04:79. Katie Burns set a personal record in the 400 with 1:07.51.
Caela Dunagan set two new career marks, setting a time of 2:40.24 in the 800 and taking 13th place in the 1,500 with a time of 5:30.87.
“I feel like our boys and girls were really focused and competed hard,” said TD head track and field coach Garth Miller. “They are continuing to improve. They are working hard and it is paying off for them at these meets.”
The Dalles next pays host to Hood River Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21.
