TROUT LAKE — Trout Lake junior Melody Stock qualified for the girls 3A/2A/1A state cross country championships and the Mustang boys qualified as a team at the 2025 District 3 championships Oct. 31 in Pendleton.
Stock finished second in the 5,000-meter race over a fast course at McKay Park in a 37-second personal best in 18 minutes, 39 seconds. Lily Nichols of Heppner won the race in 18:27.
The Trout Lake boys finished second in the 2A/1A boys race to Union. Trout Lake’s state qualifying runners are: Thaddeus Lambert (12th, 17:35), Nehemiah Davis (14th, 17:52), Elijah Steward (17th, 17:59), Joby Steward (20th, 18:09), Jory Pearson (32nd, 18:54), and Johannes Lambert (39th, 19:50). All six runners ran lifetime bests at the district meet.
The OSAA state finals are Nov. 8 at Lane Community College in Eugene. The boys 2A/1A race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.; the 3A/2A/1A girls race begins at 10:35 a.m.
