Trails reopen/Biketoberfest
Bikers are reporting that bike trails on private lands such as Hospital Hill, Underwood Mountain, and Whoopdee have been reopened following closure this summer due to fire danger. Riders should be aware of debris on the trail that may have accumulated over the summer. At the Whoopdee Trail this weekend, bikers can celebrate Biketoberfest, a fundraiser for Hood River Area Trail Stewards (HRATS) and the Whoopdee Trail, put on by Mountain View Cycles. Trek demos from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., live music from 3-5, and a Bavarian lunch of brats, potatoes, and more will be served from 1-5. Beer provided by Everybody’s Brewing and raffle prizes will be offered throughout the day. All proceeds go to the Whoopdee Trail and HRATS; $20 suggested donation for pint glass and food.
