THE GORGE — The Sherman County Huskies extended their 2025 high school football season another week by winning in the Class 1A six-man quarterfinals, 26-19, at third-seeded Eddyville.
The Huskies (9-2), the third seed from District 1, were seeded sixth in the playoffs. Coach Paul Bish’s team earned itself a rematch against district champion Harper Charter in the state semifinals. That game is scheduled to be played Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at Baker City High School.
Harper Charter (10-0), led by nine seniors on its 16-player roster, has registered five shutouts this fall. Sherman lost 59-26 in an Oct. 17 district home game to the Hornets. The 59 points were a season low for Harper and Sherman’s 26 points were the most a team has scored on Harper this season.
Sherman’s advancement into the state semifinals is the furthest the Husky football program has gone since a 2014 state final appearance.
