STEVENSON — Columbia High School’s Saylor Hauge and Sara Miller each won two individual events and also were part of a first-place relay at the annual Al McKee Invite on May 9 at Stevenson High School.
Hauge won the 300-meter hurdles in 47.26 seconds and the high jump at 5 feet, 2 inches. Miller won the 100 meters (12.85), and the 200 meters (27.04); she was second in the 400 (1:03.35). Sequoia and Willow Cohen joined Miller and Hauge on the 4x100 relay, which won the race in 51.94 seconds.
Sequoia Cohen ran a personal best 17.74 seconds in the 100 hurdles. Distance runners Olivia Allen, Lilah Zimmerman and Helen Hoskins finished 1-2-3. Allen ran a PR 2:35.18 800; and Zimmerman and Hoskins were 2-3 in the 1600 (5:44.7 and 5:46.28).
Columbia went 1-2-4 in the high jump, as Simon Caldwell won on fewer misses at 5-8 over teammate Jaime Perez, while Hunter Wang cleared 5-6. Wang also ran the 300 hurdles in 44.27, and Perez had a PR in the long jump of 19-9.5.
Glenwood and Trout Lake also competed at the Al McKee meet. Glenwood was led by Shane Spino, who won the 400 in a personal best 53.82 seconds and was third in the 100 in 11.86. Giana Jackson was fourth in the girls 100 in a PR 13.72 seconds.
Trout Lake had big PRs from Jayden Kusky, who won the shot put at 49 feet, 7 inches, and Melody Stock (5:17.0 1600). Kusky also threw a lifetime best of 122-7 in the discus. Teammate Sawyer Dean cleared 15 feet to win the boys pole vault, and Violette Anderson won the girls shot put and 100 hurdles.
