HOOD RIVER — The Hood River Valley High Eagles lost two OSAA Class 5A Northwest Oregon Conference volleyball games last week, extending their losing streak to four and eliminating them from state playoff contention.

The Eagles lost 3-0 at home Oct. 21 to the league leading No. 5-ranked Wilsonville High Wildcats (15-0 NWOC, 19-4 overall). The Eagles (5-10 NWOC, 7-14 overall) followed with a 3-0 road loss Oct. 23 to the Milwaukie High Mustangs (7-8 NWOC, 8-10 overall). The Eagles are in seventh place in the nine-team NWOC standings, and the top four squads advance to the state playoffs beginning Nov. 2.
