HOOD RIVER — Despite losing two OSAA Class 5A Northwest Oregon Conference girls soccer games last week, the No. 14-ranked Hood River Valley High Eagles (2-4-1 Northwest Oregon Conference standings, 7-5-2 overall) still have a chance to reach the 16-team state playoffs beginning Nov. 6.

The Eagles lost 6-3 to the No. 1-ranked, league leading Canby High Cougars (7-0 NWOC, 12-1-1 overall) at home on senior night Oct. 22 in Hood River. HRV seniors Julia Rowan, Lucy Dierker, Ocean Rivera, Sylvaine Farr, Yeribel Bolanos and Grace Rowan were honored for their contributions to the Eagle soccer program in a special halftime ceremony while accompanied by their parents.
