March brings spring, opportunities for stargazing

Welcome to March, the month when spring begins and when we “spring” forward to daylight savings time. Change to Daylight Standard Time (DST) occurs first, on March 8. Set your clocks ahead one hour. Spring officially begins March 19, when the Sun is directly above Earth’s equator, and the length of day and night are approximately equal.

Walden sets town halls

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Representative Greg Walden (R-Hood River) will hold town halls in the Gorge March 15. The day will begin with a town hall 8:30 a.m. at the Hood River Armory, 1590 12th St., Hood River, followed by one in The Dalles at 11:15 a.m. at the Civic Auditorium, 323 E. 4th St.
