On March 5th the Mid-Columbia Health Foundation had the pleasure of celebrating the ninth year of the Tradition of Compassion Philanthropy Awards.
I would like to thank David Griffith for joining me to MC the event.
David not only stepped up to sponsor the event, but also donated his time to help the evening run smoothly. The Health Foundation received 20 great nominees, many of them are people who donate their time and money to not just one cause but in numerous ways, to numerous causes.
The recipients of the awards this year were: Dave Neitling — Outstanding Philanthropist, Carol Roderick — Outstanding Volunteer, Hire Electric — Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation and Mid-Columbia Community Action Council — Outstanding Community Service Organization. Congratulations to them all!
If you weren’t able to attend this year I invite you to stop by the old Norco building across the street from the post office where the posts are currently on display.
The beauty of Tradition of Compassion is that it gives us a chance to honor and celebrate the great community we have here in The Dalles.
The people at Mid-Columbia Fire & Rescue are a great example of putting service above self. They were gracious hosts and a true pleasure to work with.
